“I fell in love with art at a young age and seemed to gravitate toward anything visual and creative. Art is a means of expression and communication for me. I always had a hard time expressing myself through words but art became my love letter to the earth.
I’ve always had a powerful connection to butterflies. The beautiful change they symbolize and humility of nature they teach us. One of the most special people in my life was my grandmother. She was the most loving, humble person I have ever known. Her name… Vanessa, means butterfly. So when I paint butterflies I’m reminded not only of their beauty, but the beauty of selfless love my grandmother taught me. So calm and yet so strong. I hope to send you her message of strength, peace, and love.”
